The Sikh Gurudwaras are feeding the out of work US Govt employees and out of money after the US Govt shut down . 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 My dear folks, The “Kala chakra”( the wheel of time), has a unique, miraculous way of turning around the history of Man kind. I have chanced upon noticing that in the saga of Indo- American relationships, it has taken a 180 degrees turn till date. I remember in the 70s, the starving Indians used to keep their eyes focused to the horizons across the seas to catch the sight of approaching American ships, carrying the discarded low quality wheat of US, to feed the hungry millions of India. Instead of dumping the defective grains in the Pacific ocean,the Americans found a nice way to get rid of them : Honey-coat it as a Charitable scheme named as “PL 480” and oblige the poor Indians. Let’s cut the flash- back to present days.The partial US government shutdown,which entered the fourth week, has left more than 800,000 federal government workers,out of work across the key departments. Trump desperately wants to build a US-Mexico border wall and is seeking USD 5.7 billion in funding, for the barrier, which according to Trump, is a must to prevent flow of illegal immigrants into the US. However, the Democrats assert that such a move is a "waste" of taxpayers money, and Trump is trying to arm- twist the senate by this ridiculous shut-down. Folks, I am delighted to see our powerful Sikh community in US, unconditionally coming forward to feed the hungry Americans who are left without any pay or perks by the willy Trump. "Workers and families affected by the shutdown are invited to Sikh Centre all weekend for free meals starting today,"-the Sikh Center announced. The idea that originated from the community's willingness to offer help during this hour of difficulty for many American families soon drew many volunteers who offered to come and cook to feed everyone who would come to enjoy the meals. I profusely thank “Almighty and the Sikh Community” to give me this opportunity to rejoice - for repaying American charity, (this time without any hidden agenda), and retrieve our honour and pride. I hope this Indian hospitality humbles the American arrogance. Jai Hind🇮🇳
